Miracle League of San Antonio plays ball

Right next to Nelson Wolff Stadium, where the Missions are playing out their season, the Yankees took on the Angels.

But these baseball teams are made up of kids and young adults from San Antonio and surrounding areas.

They are a part of the Miracle League of San Antonio.

All of the participants have some type of mental or physical challenge. However on the Miracle League of San Antonio Field, their challenge is turned into an opportunity to be a part of a team, make new friends and dominate on the field.

14-year-old Brandon Ornelas talked to KENS 5 before his first game on Saturday and said, “I like to be out here because I like to make home runs and I do great all the time!”

Saturday six teams faced off with each other.

Thanks to donations the kids play for free, opening up the chance to play ball to everyone.

The spring season will wrap up next week, but the kids will be back at it in August for the fall season.
